Some shoppers are planning on ditching their tumble dryers completely

As the cost of living continues to rise, households are doing everything they can to keep costs at a minimum. Many people are relying on budget supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl to keep the cost of their weekly shops low.

As well as the essentials, Aldi is renowned for their middle-aisle which throws up all sorts of bargains. Shoppers think they've spotted the latest of those - a heated air dryer for £39.99. One bargain-seeker estimated it cost just 8p an hour to use.

The plug in device is designed for rainy days when the washing line is out of action, but some shoppers thought it might be able to replace their tumble dryers all together.

In the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one excited shopped wrote: ""Oh my god I want one, can get rid of the tumble dryer." Another added: "This is a great bargain, I would definitely get one before they go."

The product description said: "All 20 bars of the airer are heated for quality drying of clothes, towels and bedding. It's lightweight foldable design means that it can be stored away easily in-between uses."

The airer, designed by Easy Home, is only available on the Aldi website, not in stores. You can find it here.

In other Aldi related news, the supermarket has announced they be closing all of the UK stores on Monday (September 19), the day of Her Majesty's funeral 'as a mark of respect' to the late monarch.

They said: "As a mark of respect, all Aldi stores across the UK will close on Monday September 19 to allow our store colleagues to pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen."
