Today in Gear is our daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and news from Gear Patrol Studios.

Ever wondered what the future will smell like? Luxury fragrance brand Byredo has paired with RTFKT Studios to create a line of digital ‘auras’ to be worn within the metaverse. Each aura comes complemented by a real-world fragrance and is designed within a combination of 26 possible emotive traits (including “naivety” and “virtue” among others). These ‘auras’ can then be used within the RTFKT avatar ecosystem and worn by the popular CloneX avatars. However, before you start mixing your aura; be warned that acquiring a CloneX NFT will typically cost upwards of $10,000. This collaboration marks another interesting move for RTFKT Studios, which is owned by Nike and previously collaborated with the company on a line of CRYPTOKICKS. Today we’re looking at sustainable culinary knives, CBD cocktails and a new line of outdoor luggage. This is Today in Gear.

The Clear is a cooler insulated not with foam, not with some stainless steel vacuum situation, but with air — your air. The process is simple: open the air valve, add ice and your bevvies, then blow air into the valve, fold over the top and you're good to go. This is the first clear, air-insulated cooler of its kind, and since it's totally reusable and very portable you're going to be showing off that elite status in no time flat — and all summer long. [Pro tip: take advantage of the ICEMULE 4th of July sale running from 6/27-7/4, where you can score 20 percent off sitewide.

Created by Origin Handcrafted Goods, this stunning series might just be the most sustainable set of culinary knives on the planet. For the past decade, the team behind Origin Handcrafted has been collecting antique saw blades to secure a high-quality blade steel for these knives. Meanwhile, the handle is formed from prevalent Manitoba Maple and recycled whiskey barrels. Fans should act fast, as the set is currently available via Kickstarter for about $442 – for just 24 more hours. After that you’ll have to wait until they become available at the standard retail pricing at about $512.

Say hello to a new kind of CBD cocktail – one that plays off the natural flavors and terpenes found in full spectrum hemp and offers “all the buzz without the booze.” Flyers’ CBD Cocktails come in three flavors we’ll happily crack at EOD. These include a twist on the old fashion (BKLN Gold), a yuzu and chili-forward Tokyo Margarita and a fun, fizzy Sydney Spritz. Fans can shop the sampler pack to try them all for just $38 today – and see for themselves what all the buzz is about.

AWAY has made a name for itself with a long line of trusted, trending luggage. Now, the brand is releasing nine outdoors-inspired (and adventure-ready) pieces as part of its new For All Routes Collection. There, fans can find sturdy convertible bags made with a mix of sustainable materials and colorful high-strength polyester. Of course, the collection will also include a standalone “Organizational Cube” available in four different colors and sizes. Pricing for the collection begins at $25.

Helly Hansen is far from #gorpcore – it’s a major proprietor of professional-grade gear. That said, its archive-focused HH-118389225 draws inspiration (and material knowledge) from its parent brand to create pieces you’ll see retailing on sites like SSENSE, and turning heads IRL. For its latest Spring/Summer 2023 collection (AKA Capsule 231) the brand has drawn inspiration from professional Search and Rescue teams that have historically used Helly Hansen gear. The resulting collection is functional, versatile and pretty stunning. Capsule 231 will be available through select retailers in Spring 2023, but for now, fans can check out the last of what’s been released so far at the link below.
