The Denton High School Class of 1962 will have its 60th class reunion Sept. 30-Oct. 2, celebrating in several locations around Denton.

The Class of 1962’s “Diamond Jubilee: Celebrating 60 Years” will have about 80 alumni attending, the highest number of attendees the class has had in recent years.

An informal social will be held Friday night, Sept. 30, at the home of one class member.

The alumni will tour the new Denton High School campus on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 9:30 a.m., followed by an optional lunch at North Point Cafe. After lunch, free time will be spent shopping and sightseeing on the downtown Square.

Class members will gather beginning at 4 p.m. Oct. 1 in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn Denton, and a class picture is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebration dinner will follow at 7:30 p.m., with a ceremony remembering deceased classmates, a program, visiting and dancing.

Discover Denton has contributed cooler bags for attendees, and each will receive a gift bag from the reunion committee. In addition, each classmate will receive a commemorative directory.
